Pet News Round-Up: Your Pet and the Holidays in 2020
2020 has been no regular year, and as we head into the holiday season that becomes apparent due to all the changes and concessions that have had to be made in every aspect of our lives— including pet travel!
- Firstly, many families view the extra days off of work and school during the winter holiday season as a great time to make that big move. But, if you have pets, make sure you’re aware of the limitations there might be in December, especially if you’re moving internationally! Read on here to make sure your family is prepared especially as COVID-19 continues to make pet travel more complicated.
- For instance, did you know that the pet quarantine station in Australia takes a two-week break to clean, restock and give their staff a break at the end of December and early January? It’s true! No pets can arrive after December 11th to begin their 10-day quarantine stay! So, if you’re planning to bring your pet to Australia and have yet to make arrangements, you’ll need to plan to arrive after January 4th, 2021.
- 2020 has been a wild year for us, but amidst the madness, we have still been able to see some truly special reunions. From our very first pandemic-related move in February, which saw Buddy the poodle stranded in China, to a family of guinea pigs making a road trip across Europe, it’s been an incredible journey. Pet travel and the pandemic hasn’t been easy, but we’ve been honored to be part of every one of these adventures!
