Pet Travel Update: Singapore Dog License Requirements

Importing pets to Singapore requires a significant amount of preparation, and we've recently learned of an additional detail that will affect pets traveling here.

Beginning January, 1, 2016, all dogs entering Singapore will need to apply for the required dog license before they can apply for an official import permit.

Currently all dogs over three months old must be licensed to remain in Singapore, and pet owners must have a residential Singapore address to obtain the license. This complies with the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) of Singapore and exists for traceability purposes.

Once the license is obtained, it should be attached as one of the import permit application's supporting documents.

Find out more about the Singapore pet import process via the AVA website and by looking over these Singapore pet travel stories from pet owners who have already made the trip.
