Hi. If moving 2 cats from Brazil to Australia, will they be able to be in the same cell in quarantine?

Hello Emma,

Great question! The facility keeps all pets in their own individual pens to ensure they can keep track of food intake properly. However, they do try to keep families in adjacent pens to minimize anxiety as much as possible.

I hope this helps! If you have more questions or need further guidance, please let us know.

Hi, I'm wanting to fly my two poodles from France to Australia and it says on the quarantine site they can share a kennel. Do they still allow this? And do they have a bed of some sort? I was told they are kept on bare concrete with not even one of those plastic hammock beds. Also my dogs are raw fed and if they are given biscuits will get the runs. Can I arrange raw food for them?

Hello Janine,

Thank you for reaching out!

The facility keeps all pets in their own individual pens to ensure they can keep track of food intake or any health reactions properly. They do try to keep families in adjacent pens to minimize anxiety as much as possible, but will only put pets in the same run if one of the pets is showing consistent anxiety.

Also, they do provide bedding to the animals staying in quarantine (you will notice the cat picture above includes a cat bed/house) and they do allow special food to be provided. However, it is best to reach out to the facility to check on the raw food requirements as we are only aware that you may order from this website to have it delivered to quarantine.

I hope this helps, Janine. Good luck with everything!

Good day.I am busy bringing my two dogs over from South Africa. They actually flew out yesterday, 4 October, and should have landed in Melbourne already. Is there a number I can phone to find out how they are doing at this stage?Thank you in advance. JP

Hello Jean-Pierre, thanks for the question!

You can find contact information for the Mickleham facility on the PEQ website here. However, they typically keep you informed via email within 24 hours of your dogs' arrival so we recommend looking out for this email first.

We hope this helps and that you are reunited with your dogs soon!

Hi Felicia!

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, your dog will not be allowed to have his toy while in quarantine. The good news is he will receive great care and be closely monitored during his stay!
