Pet Travel Question: Exporting a Dog From Vietnam

Hello, how are you? I bought a pet while I was on vacation and I wanted to transport him to the United States.

Can you tell me what steps I need to take to do this?

Thanks,
Justin

Hi Justin,

We're doing well, thanks for asking! To move a pet to the United States, you'll need to meet a few basic requirements that include acquiring a health certificate and making sure your dog has been vaccinated against rabies.

Check out the United States pet import rules, and we also recommend that you start looking into acquiring an approved travel carrier and researching pet-friendly airlines. It's likely you'll end up flying your dog via cargo, which is a safe option and our preferred method for pet travel. Here is more information about planning safe cargo travel for dogs

Please let us know if you'd like some assistance or if you have any more questions about your pet move, and congratulations on the new dog!

Hi, how do I go about exporting a dog from Vietnam to Malaysia? How long will the necessary paperwork take? How many days before travelling will the vaccines need to be administered?
