Pet Travel Q&A: Traveling With Cats to New Zealand

Hi,

I'm having real trouble finding a company that will help us move our cats from Denmark. Only a company called TrustForwarding appears to do flights, and they won't help with any other details like paperwork and vet visits etc. Do you know where I can get help without moving to another country for 6 months!?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for your question! As you probably know, Moving pets to New Zealand is quite an endeavor due to the fact that New Zealand is a rabies free nation. Pets traveling here need to undergo several months of preparation during which they complete a series of vet visits and vaccines in the correct order, and there is also a minimum 10-day quarantine upon arrival.

We have helped many pets move safely to New Zealand (here's the story of Wednesday the cat, for example) and would be happy to discuss your options with you. PetRelocation provides door-to-door services, meaning we assist with gathering all paperwork, arrange the flight, and arrange transportation to and from the airport on either side. If this sounds like what you're looking for, please fill out our online consultation form or give us a call (1-877-PET-MOVE).

For more details, here's the official New Zealand pet import site if you've yet to see it. Finally, here are a few frequently asked pet travel questions that may help you with general planning questions.

Hope this helps, Jeremy! Please let us know if we can be of further assistance, and good luck with everything.
