Pet Travel Question: Moving a Dog from Jordan to Canada

Name: Nadine
Number of Pets: 1
Pet Type: Dog
Pet Breed: Mixed-breed
From: Jordan
To: Canada

Hi,

I have a pet dog named Bella currently in Jordan, and as my family and I immigrated to Canada last year, I would like to bring her to Canada as well. If it's possible, I would appreciate any information I can get about the process of relocating her. She is a small dog, weighs about 5kg.

Thank you,

Nadine

Hi Nadine,

There are several steps involved in relocating a pet internationally. First, you should familiarize yourself with Canada's pet import requirements. You'll see that there are several pet health certifications you will need, including a current, valid Rabies Vaccination.

In addition to this paperwork, you will need an airline-approved travel crate for your dog. Check out our guide to finding the right size crate for your dog. To make sure Bella is safe and comfortable during her journey, you should book her flight on a pet-friendly airline--we often use KLM, United, and Lufthansa. You will also need to arrange ground travel transportation to get Bella to the airport in Jordan and to get her home once she lands in Canada.

Thanks for your question, and good luck moving Bella!
