Pet Move of the Month: Lovie’s Move to Malaysia

Lovie the CorgiIncredible Experiences: Corgi Adventures to Malaysia

Loving owners, a beautiful and well-cared for dog, and a long-distance relocation (the family moved from Texas all the way to Malaysia) makes this month's featured pet move an easy choice.

Lovie is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi who we actually had the chance to meet for ourselves (check our her office Instagram below), and in the last update we were happy to hear that everyone is settling into Kuala Lumpur very well.

Read on for our interview with pet owner Laura, who graciously provided a few more details about Lovie, our very lovable February Pet of the Month!

What were some of your concerns going into the move?

I had many concerns. Would she be uncomfortable, would she have access to her food and water, how would she get potty breaks, etc.

Did anything surprise you about the international pet moving process?

No not really. I wasn't sure what exactly to expect.

How is Lovie adjusting to the new location?

Lovie is adjusting very well. She's good like that. She very easy going and adapts well.

What is life like in Malaysia? Is it a pet-friendly place to be?

Life in Malaysia is very different for dogs. There are people who have dogs, but there are also many Muslims here and due to their religion, they don't have contact with dogs. So with Lovie being so friendly and outgoing, we have to be careful.

What advice do you have for people who might be planning a move?

My advice for someone who might be moving is to ASK, ASK, ASK. Ask all the questions you can think of. Poor Bethany and Ashley!!! I don't know how many times I called or emailed with questions or concerns, but they always answered right away!

What were the benefits of enlisting professional assistance with your pet move?

The benefits were having peace of mind that someone who REALLY cared was looking out for our Lovie, they took care of all the paperwork, and they kept me updated at all times to her whereabouts and condition. Since I couldn't be there to see for myself, having that information was priceless to me. Honestly, there wasn't anything that I didn't like. You guys were great!
