Pet Travel Question: Moving Back to the UK With a Cat

Name: Kelly
Number of Pets: One
Pet Type: Cat
Pet Breed: British Short hair Blue
From: Goa, India
To: United Kingdom

Hi,

My cat came over with me to live in Goa three years ago, and we are now returning home. I still have his crate and plan on getting paperwork from his vet, but I don't know what paperwork I need to take him on the flight or to get him back into the UK or where to get it from. Can you help? I will be traveling with Qatar in October.

Many Thanks,
Kelly

Hi Kelly,

These are good questions, and it's great that you still have your cat's travel crate. Check out the Pet Import Requirements for the United Kingdom to find out what paperwork you will need in order to bring your cat to the UK. As you can see, most of this documentation is available through your vet, but some of it will need to be endorsed by the Indian government veterinary authority. In addition to these various certificates, your cat will also need to have a microchip implanted if he does not already have one.

Getting all of these documents will take some time, so it is best to get started as soon as possible if you plan on traveling with your cat in October. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact us. Additionally, if you think you might be interested in our door-to-door pet relocation services, please fill out our free quote form.

Thanks for your question, and good luck with your move back to England!
