Client Travel Story: Elliott’s Pet Move to Australia

Elliott in AustraliaIncredible Experiences: Elliott's Relocation to Sydney

In September 2010, we got an unexpected phone call from my husband's boss. "How would you feel about moving to Australia?" he said. After some thought and lots of conversations with friends and family, we decided to make the move. My only reservation was that I would not be going without our 1.5 year old Golden Retriever/Collie mix, Elliott.

We starting making all the plans. We sorted our belongings into piles: stay, go, donate, trash. We researched moving companies for our things. I spent weeks researching how to relocate a dog all the way around the world.

With vet appointments underway, I spoke to representatives of several pet moving companies, but PetRelocation was different. What they had to offer was much more than I had found elsewhere. Most importantly, I felt comfortable leaving my baby in their hands.

We worked with Mike through the whole process. He was patient and kind and understanding. No question was a stupid question. We asked a lot of questions, and they were always answered. With PetRelocation I didn't have much to worry about.

We made the move to Sydney before Elliott to reduce his quarantine time to the minimum. Mike worked with our family and friends and the vet to make sure Elliott was ready to go. Everything was taken care of, including the flight, the import permit and the quarantine reservation. Moving ourselves was stressful enough, and PetRelocation took care of the dog so we could take care of everything else.

I am sure we will be returning to the US after a few years here. You can be sure we will be using PetRelocation to bring our Elliott home.

Thank you,

Tiffany
